Not sure why he's looking so sheepish here. Bored, perhaps.

This was his first day here. A bit skeered is more likely the cause.

The camera sends out an infrared beam to determine the distance to the subject. Some visible light is in there too. I no think he likes it. Makes him camera shy, which is too bad, since he's got some good looks.

He arrived pretrained to know that climbing on furniture was verboten. Didn't take long to convince him it was OK to be on his new bed. No fool he. I've slept on worse myself.

Although often he appears to be a bit unclear on the concept.

One belly rub please.

OK, now I'll stop chewing my bed, your shirts, etc.

The nice folks at the Oakland SPCA suggested he might be craving a soft chewy toy when he started chewing his bed, my laundry (sometimes while I was wearing it), etc. He took to this much faster than the hard chew toys.

Name	Reasons considered, rejected.
pupkis	Funny like bubkis, but too much of an inside joke. see also bupkes / bobkes / bubkes / bopkes, all variants on the yiddish slang term.
steve	Could have annoyed both a brother and a racer friend in one go by naming my dog after them. Decided to go with a higher motive.
krusty	Great character. Great name. Had to reject all Simpsons, star trek, and motorcycle related names on principle though.
einstein	Good name. Nice imagery. His hair is close to being suitable. He's smart, but he's not Einstein smart.
roenick	Would have been fun to name him after a fan favorite hockey player, but he looks more like Michal Handzus.
handzus	Cool name actually, and he looks like him (see above). But what if Handzus got traded?
bueno	Good name for a good boy. But there were better choices.
mojo	Nice reference to Mojo Nixon. Mojo is an overused word though. I suppose if I wanted to be controversial I could call him Nixon.
monkey-boy	He's in touch with his monkey nature. Rejected because it is too long, generally considered derogatory (has no one seen Buckaroo Banzai?) and he might eventually learn to fling poo. And that would be bad because he has access to a lot of it.
